The Goodyear Wrangler AT/S is designed for the challenges of off-road driving, yet is made with the regularities of on-road driving in mind. The Wrangler AT/S provides ample grip on gravel, dirt, and grass, while still offering sure-footed performance on pavement. The Wrangler AT/S has an innovative tread design with a series of interlocking blocks that enhance both steering and braking on paved surfaces. The tread design promotes aquaplaning resistance by having a series of grooves that channel water away from the road surface contact patch. The outer blocks are multi-angled to provide additional traction on off-road surfaces.
The casing design is made to support the heavy loads of 4x4 vehicles and pick-up trucks, and helps the tyre retain its shape on rough and uneven surfaces. The design of the blocks on the tread is made to encourage even wear of the tread, and also dampens road noise during fast driving on the road.
