Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
The Goodyear UltraGrip 9+ is a winter tyre focused on optimising grip on ice and snow for passenger cars. Goodyear has developed a technology named Winter Grip which uses a resin to improve winter grip. UltraGrip 9+ has a directional V shaped tread pattern that has outward opening grooves that channel away water and slush. Goodyear has designed numerous biting edges on the tread by having fine slits on the tread that allow the tyre to roll over and grip packed snow.
UltraGrip 9+ has made improvements over UltraGrip 9 with the addition of Mileage Plus technology. Mileage Plus technology is a more elastic tread compound which reduces the damage caused by small fractures as a tyre drives over rough surfaces that have a large temperature variation. Versions of the UltraGrip 9+ have been given the 3PMSF designation which identifies the tyre as certified for severe snow conditions. Tyres.co.uk is proud to stock the Goodyear UltraGrip 9+.
