The Goodyear UltraGrip 8 MS is a winter tyre designed for use on passenger vehicles. It focuses on maximising grip on snowy surfaces and on rapidly removing water from cold, wet, and congested road surfaces. The UltraGrip 8 MS has a directional V-shaped tread pattern. Within this pattern, water is moved to the outer edge of the tyre through deep grooves. Interlocking slits in the tread of the UltraGrip 8 MS help create friction grip in the snow, while the slits help provide support to the tread blocks when braking and cornering.

Goodyear also incorporates their Hydrodynamic Grooves on the UltraGrip 8 MS. These are wide channels in the tread that help remove standing water and slush. The UltraGrip 8 MS is classified as mud and snow (M+S) on the tread, and a rotation arrow is printed on the tyre to indicate the correct directional tread pattern for the tyre. Overall, the investment has been a good one. Having done quite a bit of driving on motorways, I feel a lot more assured about driving in the wet. With regard to colder weather, they also cope without any difficulty, giving good grip and control. I did, though, notice that they seem to be somewhat noisier than I was expecting at high speeds, which can be a bit of a distraction, but I wouldn't say it was too much of a problem. In the same conditions, my previous set were much worse.

I have owned Goodyear UltraGrip 8 MS tyres for a few months now. I have experienced them performing greatly in wet weather conditions and cold temperatures. they are also surprisingly quieter than my previous set. It is safe to say that I recommend them all day for winter driving. The performance in bad weather conditions has blown my mind.
