The Goodyear Eagle LS2 is a summer tyre focused on A-road and motorway summer driving. Its tread design tries to maintain quickness in steering at higher speeds. The LS2 has wide grooves to pull water away from the centre. Slits across the blocks of tread provide more edges on which the tyre can grip in the rain. The LS2 has a casing that distributes pressure over the entire contact patch as the tyre rolls which aids in a more uniform tread wear over the life of the tyre.

Some versions of the LS2 have run-flat design which include sidewall reinforcement which support the vehicle in the case of a loss of pressure. These versions are only for vehicles which are designed to accept run-flat tyres, thus it is important to match the construction when these tyres are replaced. It has somewhat better fuel efficiency than it did previously.

The main problem is the noise. These tyres create greater road noise than my old BMW X3 which did not have run flats. This may be normal for run flat tyres. Because of the Covid lockdown, I have only been able to drive 300 miles so far, so it is too early to give more details.
