Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is a summer tyre focused on improving performance during wet conditions with an innovative asymmetric design. Goodyear claims that the innovation is that the design allows the rubber to hammer tiny bits of the wet road, increasing contact, and therefore, friction. It is also designed to guide the water away from the centre grooves to improve dry performance. The outer edge of the design has large blocks that provide support when cornering.

The Asymmetric 6 replaced the Asymmetric 5 in 2022. Goodyear also claims that their SoundComfort Technology are tyre inserts made of polyurethane that help absorb and lower the noise caused by the air moving in and out of the tyre. Tyres.co.uk sells the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, SoundComfort editions included.

Highlights

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 6) 315/35R21 111Y XL
I changed the Goodyear Efficient Grip 2's for these on the front of my SEAT Leon. The steering feel hasn't really improved as much as I hoped from the last PS4s, and I noticed a fairly significant drop in fuel efficiency by about 10% compared to the EG2s. The good news is that the car is more stable and feels composed, with really good grip in the bends, especially when it is wet. Before with the EG2s it felt very high speed unsettled. It made me have to put Sport mode on the steering for more stability. With these F1's it feels more connected to the road. I find them decent, but are they better than the PS4s? I'm not so sure.
