The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is a summer tyre focused on improving performance during wet conditions with an innovative asymmetric design. Goodyear claims that the innovation is that the design allows the rubber to hammer tiny bits of the wet road, increasing contact, and therefore, friction. It is also designed to guide the water away from the centre grooves to improve dry performance. The outer edge of the design has large blocks that provide support when cornering.

The Asymmetric 6 replaced the Asymmetric 5 in 2022. Goodyear also claims that their SoundComfort Technology are tyre inserts made of polyurethane that help absorb and lower the noise caused by the air moving in and out of the tyre. Tyres.co.uk sells the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, SoundComfort editions included.

I have 5000 miles on a full set and they are already 70% worn. I am not sure they will reach 10,000 miles.

These tyres were chosen based on reviews that mentioned their construction minimising noise heard within the car (the original asymmetric 3s were rather noisy). I can confirm that they are certainly more quiet, especially on the newly paved sections of my route to work. I am also pleased with the handling and grip, as they provide confidence while driving through turns and when it is raining.

I used to have cheap run-flat tyres from two different brands, and changing to these Eagle F1s is unbelievable. All weather grip is better, they are quieter, and I think they are more fuel-efficient than my previous tyres. The handling is razor sharp. I would recommend these tyres!
