  • Tick Icon Car
    Car tyre:

Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.

  • Tick Icon Reinforced (XL)
    Extra Load or Reinforced tyres:

A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.

  • Tick Icon Winter
    Winter tyres:

Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.

Product description & features

The Continental WinterContact TS 870 P is an advanced winter tyre prioritising braking on wet roads and snow traction. The 870 P carries the 3PMSF marking. The Continental Cool Chili compound features the brand's signature flexible polymer matrix. This compound stays flexible in colder temperatures, and the groove pattern makes the rubber conform to wet surfaces for braking efficacy. The centre pattern of the 870 P has snow-capturing grooves. The grooves are designed to hold packed snow, making snow interlocking traction points with the road.

The TS 870 P is the successor to the TS 860 S in the Continental performance winter range. The TS 870 P has a couple variations. Some of those variations use ContiSeal, which is a sealing layer of rubber inside the tyre that heals small punctures in the tread. Other variations of the TS 870 P have reinforced sidewalls which sustain the vehicle after an air pressure loss. We sell the Continental WinterContact TS 870 P at Tyres.co.uk with the SSR runflat variations as well.

Highlights

  • Wet road braking and snow traction
