Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).
These tyres have been specifically designed for fitment and use on cars.
These tyres are designed with a stronger sidewall, making them capable of handling more weight than your average tyre. Typically, they are classified by the letters 'XL' on the sidewall.
These are designed for improved performance at temperatures below 7°C. At this temperature the rubber in summer tyres hardens and loses performance whilst the compound of winter tyres remains supple, maintaining grip.
The design characteristic of the performance winter tyre Continental WinterContact TS 850 P is improving braking and steering on roads that are cold and wet, and also on compacted snow. The Cool Chili winter tyre compound keeps the tread flexible and the Cool Chili compound and tread blocks cut with slits and spaced closely, allow the tyre to grip on roads. The PrecisionPlus technology is a combination of engineering to best support the steering and braking for winter conditions. This technology aims to maximise the winter braking and steering.
The S-GRIP of Continental WinterContact TS 850 P allows snow to be trapped within the tread, enabling it to create an interlock with the snow surface when the tyre is in motion or when braking. The 3PMSF and M+S symbols on the sidewall are snow and mud designations. The 3PMSF symbol indicates the snow tyre has met the requirements for snow traction. Tyres.co.uk supplies the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P.
