The Continental SportContact 7 is a summer performance tyre. Having developed these characteristics into a different tyre for vehicles of varying weights and power levels, Continental are adept at responding to market needs. The tread pattern is designed for summer conditions, but with rain and wet roads in mind and coupled with an asymmetric Adaptive Pattern, the outer tread blocks link for cornering, the inner section employs a more open design to deal with water.

Constantly Flexible is a rubber compound designed by Continental, with lateral and vertical grooves, which helps the rubber to conform to road surfaces.

The SportContact 7 is the 7th iteration to replace the SportContact 6. Compared to the SportContact 6, Continental says that the SportContact 7 has less braking distance, a maximum improvement of 8% in the wet and 6% in the dry and an impressive increase of 17% in the tyre lifespan.

The SC7 is an outstanding tyre. It handles both wet and dry conditions exceptionally well. With my 300 bhp front-wheel-drive car, the pressure on the front tyres is extreme and these tyres cope with it extremely well. They give a sporty feel and direct steering. They do tend to be a bit noisy, but that is to be expected from a 19 inch 35 profile. The also do wear out a bit quickly, but because they are inexpensive it sort of balances out. I would recommend these tyres to anyone wanting extreme summer performance, even if it means losing some comfort and durability.
