The Continental Sport Contact 5P is a summer tyre designed for ultra-high performance. Each side contains a rigid outer shoulder in order to enable dry-road cornering. An asymmetric tread design separates the functions of cornering and water clearing. The outer edge block is a large, rigid block that assists the tyre in maintaining its shape and resisting the bending of the tyre caused by cornering. Water is cleared from the road contact patch by front and back line grooves and inner side cross channels. The BlackChili braking compound helps to increase braking performance and grip by mixing carbon-black with polymers.
Tyres that are marked with an N0 or an MO, indicating Porsche or Mercedes-Benz respectively, are in fact purpose built tyres for those vehicle manufacturers. The general purpose tyres for those vehicles are simply labelled as such. The line also offers tyres with added sidewall reinforcement for a limited range of travel after a loss of inflation. At Tyres.co.uk, you can find the Continental Sport Contact 5P, including SSR versions.
