Product description & features

The Bridgestone Potenza S001 is a max-performance summer tyre aimed for quick steering response on the motorway and A-roads. It uses larger angled blocks on the outer tread to retain shape for load while cornering. The inner tread uses Bridgestone’s NanoPro-Tech compound which helps reduce build up heat. There is a continuous centre rib which supports braking and enhances the response of the steering.

Some models are marked with the BMW star mark and Mercedes MOE marking on the sidewall. This shows they were made for those specific manufacturers and complying with either marking keeps the original tyre specification for the vehicle. The run-flat models have sidewalls reinforced to support the vehicles after the tyres have lost all air pressure. Tyres.co.uk stock the Bridgestone Potenza S001 including run-flat models.

These are the factory-fitted tyres and I'm happy with how they perform and I'm happy that BMW fitted these tyres to the car.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Potenza S001 275/35R20 102Y XL
I have just replaced my rear tyres with the same model as before. In the last 11 years and 98,000 miles of driving this car, I have used multiple brands of tyres. These so-called premium tyres are not worth the extra money, as they only last between 8,000 - 9,000 miles, and I drive like a Sunday driver! I have a rear-wheel-drive Mercedes 220, and even with brand new tyres, I get some wheel spin in the rain when moving off from a junction, and that's not even with my foot heavy on the accelerator. Anyway, I have used many run flat tyres, and the Goodyear tyres are the loudest, which is why I am getting them for a third time. They are good in dry conditions, but I don't believe they are good in wet or damp conditions.

These tyres perform well in both dry and wet conditions and have good longevity, so I would recommend them.
