Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 is a summer tyre designed for the BMW i3’s tall, narrow, tyre-and-wheel assembly. Along with other electric vehicles, an assembly like this reduces energy loss from rolling resistance and drag. Bridgestone ologic technology uses a large diameter with a narrow tread to cut aerodynamic resistance and rolling energy loss. That construction provides a narrow band of tread across the road, forming the unique profile needed for its original applications.
The EP500 is original equipment for the electric BMW i3, which was designed with this tall, narrow layout. Some versions of the EP500 even feature the BMW star on the sidewall, meaning they were made to BMW’s custom specs for this vehicle, and thus, should be matched if the star is present. The Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 is available at Tyres.co.uk.
