Product description & features

The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 is a winter tyre for passenger vehicles that focuses on preventing sliding while braking on wet pavement and on snow. It uses a high-silica tread that is flexible in low temperatures. Its Nano Pro-Tech distributes small amounts of silica throughout the tyre making it grip wet pavement. The LM005 utilises high density 3D sipes. Goroves sipes run front to back to channel water out of the tyre.

The LM005 is the successor of the Blizzak LM001 in Bridgestone's European winter range. Upon its launch in 2019, Bridgestone called it the first winter tyre to receive the EU wet-grip label of A. Bridgestone also claims that the LM005's V-shaped tread channels water from the centre and along the sides, creating a path for water to evacuate from the tyre. At Tyres.co.uk, we have stock of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005.

An excellent winter tyre for everything. Better than any I have tested, including Continental TS860, Michelin Alpin A3/A4, and Dunlop Wintersport 5.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 225/55R19 103V XL
These tyres are great for snow and wet conditions. With my spirited driving style, I have no trouble controlling the car. Even my wife, who isn't as experienced as I am, praised the tyres when she drove through the snow. I haven't driven enough to comment on wear yet.

I've had these tyres during their first winter and I'm pretty happy with them so far. (This is only from one season's use, so I may have more comments about the brand in a couple of years.)

Tyre review for Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 225/55R19 103V XL
Until now, winter tyres have been excellent in terms of road grip and wet weather driving. There has been no noticeable impact on fuel consumption or increased noise levels from the tyres.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 225/55R19 103V XL
While winter tyres are a big plus, drivers should still be aware of road and weather conditions and drive in a safe and responsible manner. Winter tyres also provide valuable benefits for wet stopping distance. They also excel in the winter snow and ice driving conditions. I have extensive experience driving in winter conditions and find the advantages of winter tyres to be clear. I prefer to stay at home in winter driving conditions, not due to a winter tyre deficiency, but for driver safety if snow banks are piled higher than my front bumper. I've also noticed no change in fuel economy.

Tyre review for Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 225/55R19 103V XL
Although we haven't had much snow this winter to test them against, they have held remarkably well in cold wet conditions. That was the main reason I bought these instead of the rest. I feel just as confident with these as I do with my summer tyres in the wet as well as in the dry.
