One of the oldest names in the tyre industry, BFGoodrich has been making tyres since 1870. Now a global phenomenon, owned and operated under the Michelin brand, BFGoodrich has been famously linked to several noteworthy events: including the first motorised vehicular crossing of the United States in 1903, and the landing of the Space Shuttle Columbia.
Since being acquired by Michelin in 1990, BFGoodrich Tyres has been exposed to premium research, development, and innovation. However, a quick look back at the history of this high-performance tyre brand shows that quality has long underpinned the design and manufacturing of every BFGoodrich tyre.
BF Goodrich tyres was founded by Benjamin Franklin Goodrich and was originally known as B.F. Goodrich Tyres. It was one of the first rubber tyre manufacturers to be located west of the Appalachian mountains and spent its early years spanning into different tyre industries and markets and acquiring smaller companies.
Today, BFGoodrich is recognised as a premium brand – backed by Michelin’s approach to innovation and excellence across the tyre market.
