Marshal Tyres are produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kumho Tire Company — one of the world’s leading tyre producers, now majority-owned by Doublestar. With a global manufacturing presence and a focus on fuel efficiency, comfort, and affordability, Marshal Tyres offer excellent value for money. Find out how Kumho’s innovation ensures Marshal tyres remain a trusted, budget-friendly choice.

Reliable and affordable, with a broad collection that covers a diverse range of driver preferences and needs, Marshal Tyres has become a popular brand among drivers of passenger vehicles and small vans.

With over 20 years of experience and tyre innovation at the heart of the brand and its expansive collection, Marshal Tyres stems from South Korea but is available and recognise on a global scale.

But where are the tyres made, who makes them, and are they a good option for drivers?

Who Owns Marshal Tyres?

Marshal Tyres is a subsidiary brand, which sits under the South Korean producer, Kumho Tire Company.

The Kumho Tire Company was founded in 1960 as Samyang Tire – with the name change following a few years later. It has since then become one of the world’s leading producers of affordable and budget-friendly tyre brands, with its brand including Marshal as well as Zetum and Kumho’s own brand.

In 1977, Kumho Tires founded a UK subsidiary of the brand. In 2018, Doublestar, a Chinese company, brought a high enough stake to take over control of the Kumho brand.

Where Are Marshal Tyres Produced?

Because Marshal Tyres are produced under the Kumho umbrella, they are produced across Kumho’s own manufacturing plants and facilities.

These include three facilities in South Korea, three in China, one in Vietnam, and one in the United States.

The global network of Kumho Tires means that Marshal produces a range of tyres that are popular and available all over the world. Its research centres sit at the forefront of the brand’s development, with a 2024 award recognising its economic and environmental achievements at the Global Top Excellent Environmental Technology Awards.

Are Marshal Tyres Any Good?

With innovation and environmental concerns playing a big role in the production of Marshal Tyres, it’s fair to say that the high value and affordability of these tyres is balanced with quality and future-proof designs.

Fuel efficiency is one of the big benefits, especially for drivers on a budget who want cheaper tyres which also use less fuel when driving. Other benefits include the quiet and comfortable driving experience, reliable grip, and excellent handling in both wet and dry conditions.

Because Marshal Tyres are manufactured and produced by Kumho, they benefit from access to leading research facilities and testing centres. This is a brand that remains affordable and accessible but has access to high end production support.

The result is a set of tyres that you can trust – and that you can afford. Head to Tyres.co.uk to browse our collection of Marshal Tyre products, to compare Marshal with other brands, and to seek bespoke advice for your vehicle.
