Before You Fit New Tyres: Pre-Fitting Checklist

What to Bring on the Day

Your tyre fitting day should feel simple and stress-free — and with a little preparation, it usually is.

All you’ll need is your order reference number (saved on your phone is perfect) and your locking wheel nut key. Letting the fitter know where the key is stored before they start helps everything move along smoothly.

If you’re replacing fewer than four tyres, it’s a good idea to confirm which tyres are being changed. It’s a quick check that avoids any mix-ups and keeps the process relaxed from the start.

Before Your Appointment

Taking a few minutes to check things beforehand makes the day itself much easier.

Make sure you’ve read our terms and conditions, then double-check that the tyre size, speed rating, and load rating on your order match your vehicle. If something doesn’t look right, get in touch with us — we’re always happy to help sort it before fitting.

It’s also worth checking the time and location of your appointment and planning to arrive a little early. Turning up unhurried sets the tone for a smooth, easy fitting.

If You’re Visiting a Garage

Garage fittings are straightforward and usually quicker than many drivers expect.

Bring your order reference number, make sure your locking wheel nut key is ready, and confirm with the fitter which tyres are being replaced when you arrive.

Most fittings are completed while you wait, so you can relax knowing your car is in good hands and you’ll soon be back on the road.

If You’ve Chosen Mobile Fitting

Mobile fitting is all about convenience — we bring the fitting to you.

Park your vehicle on flat, level ground, apply the handbrake, and make sure there’s enough space around the car for the fitter to work safely. Driveways and accessible parking areas usually work best.

If access needs anything extra, such as a gate code or parking permission, letting us know in advance helps everything go smoothly. Once the fitter arrives, confirm which tyres are being changed and you can leave the rest to them.

What Happens During the Fitting

At a fitting centre, allow around 15-30 minutes per tyre. Mobile fittings can take a little longer due to the equipment used, but everything is carried out with care and attention.

Your fitted price includes valves, balancing, VAT, and tyre disposal, so there are no surprises. Specialist valves, such as TPMS sensors or metal valves, aren’t included and may cost extra if they need replacing.

If you’ve already paid for services like alignment or tracking online, you won’t be charged again. Any additional services you choose on the day are paid directly to the fitter.

If you’d like to keep your old tyres, just let the fitter know before work begins.

After Your Fitting

Once your new tyres are fitted, you’re ready to enjoy the drive.

After around 50 miles, it’s recommended to have the wheel nuts checked to make sure everything has settled correctly. Checking your tyre pressures every couple of weeks will also help keep your tyres performing at their best and lasting longer.

Ready to Go

That’s it — no complicated steps, no surprises. With everything checked and taken care of, your fitting should be smooth from start to finish.

Whether you’re heading home, off on a long drive, or just getting back to everyday journeys, you can drive away knowing your tyres have been fitted properly and safely.

If you have any questions before or after your fitting, our team is always here to help. Enjoy the ride!
