What is a Car Tyre?

It must be maintained to at least a depth of 1.6mm in order to be legal, with a well balanced wear around the outer edge which shows no signs of inconsistency.
Inside of this tread and the outer patterned edge, you come to the tyre sidewall. This conceals a complex base structure of threads and as such needs to be regularly inspected to ensure there is no damage. Note: Damage to the sidewall will render a tyre unrepairable and unsafe to use.
