History

Tegrys Tyres was founded in 2021 as a subsidiary or affordable spin-off of the highly regarded premium Prometeon Tyre brand – instantly connecting Tegrys Tyres with leading innovation, research, and tyre technology within the sector. But the premium links don’t end there.

Prometeon Tyres is itself a branch of the world renowned Pirelli Tyre brand, designed to offer the same Pirelli technology and precision but in the industrial and commercial tyre sector. It was first brought to life in 2017 to meet the commercial needs of heavy goods vehicles and lorries – becoming one of the leading suppliers for OTR and agricultural sectors as well as those handling passenger transport vehicles.

The subsequent rollout of Tegrys Tyres, balanced the high quality and precision of these tyres, with a more affordable price tag. Tegrys is a brand that has become popular for its use of technology and quality manufacturing expertise, with tyres that are manufactured in the same factories as premium options – just under a different name.

Tegrys’ Position on the Tyre Market

In short, Tegrys Tyres is the more affordable alternative to Pirelli’s own industrial tyre brand, known as Prometeon. Whie Prometeon Tyres was launched in 2017, Tegrys followed a few years later and has since become the go-to brand for vehicles across the commercial sector – bridging on- and off-road driving with mixed climate traction, robust tread patterns and the kind of balance that you only get from high quality tyres with added shoulder blocks and reinforced structures.

For drivers, some of the benefits of the Tegrys Tyre brand, and its plethora of products, include the reliability and the quality at the heart of every tyre, the consistent performance, and of course the affordable price.

Because Tegrys Tyres are made using the same technology as leading tyre brands Prometeon and Pirelli, the tyres are advanced in design and in their individual features – with the wide variety of available tyre sizes ensuring there’s the right fitment for any commercial vehicle.

Popular Tegrys Tyre Models and Collections

Tegrys Tyres are popular among commercial drivers and HGV operators, with the top models depending on vehicle type, the climate and terrain being navigated, and the distance that they are driving.

Among the top models, Tegrys Tyres manufactures a set of road tyres and some more versatile tyres, which are able to seamlessly navigate smooth on-road surfaces and off-road terrains with ease. The Tegrys TE48-S is a road tyre that balances durable design with optimum safety, ensuring good grip and traction with its sophisticated tread depth and waved sipes across the tyre surface.

The Tegrys TE48-D, meanwhile, has a much more rugged tread pattern – designed to prevent debris from getting caught between the tread blocks, to prevent chipping and damage, and to ensure even tread wear across the tyre’s width.

And then there are the off-road hybrid Tegrys tyre models, which include the TE68-S and the TE68-D. These tyres have much wider grooves between each tread block and are built to hold traction and reduce noise on tough terrains.

Browsing the Tegrys Catalogue by Season
Commercial and industrial tyres are not designed to offer the same seasonal benefits and performance-enhancing traits as passenger car tyres – meaning that seasonal design is not something that stands out in the Tegrys range, like it does with Pirelli, Michelin, Goodyear, and other leading tyres.

Most of the Tegrys tyre collection is considered all-season in design, especially in temperate climates like the UK where we do not experience the same extremes in temperature and road conditions. All-season tyres bridge the benefits and design traits of both winter and summer tyres, ensuring that vehicles are safe, stable and comfortable in all conditions. The majority of the Tegrys Tyres range are all-season, with top models including the TE48-T tyres and the TE68-S.

Summer tyres are built to dispel surface water and maximise grip while handling both wet grip conditions and dry roads. Tegrys doesn’t have any specific summer models, as most of its tyres are able to optimise summer performance while also handling cold climates and rough terrain. However, its range of all-season tyres provide fuel efficiency and safe handling in summer, while also ensuring good grip in winter.

Virtually all of Tegrys’ tyres are able to withstand winter conditions – meaning that while not exclusively winter tyres, they can be relied upon to safely navigate these complex conditions. You can identify a winter-safe all-season tyre, by the marking 3PMSF on its sidewall. Top models for managing winter conditions include tyres like the TE48-S tyres and the TE68-S tyres.

Choosing the Right Tyres for Your Vehicle

The industrial and commercial tyre market does not have the same breadth of options as the passenger car market – however, there are still premium and more budget-friendly brands to choose from, each with their own unique features and benefits.

Tegrys Tyres is a mid-range brand that takes many benefits of premium brands like Continental and Pirelli but makes them affordable and more accessible. These tyres balance safety and traction with comfort and performance, giving drivers the reliability and functionality they need.
