History

Sportrak Tyres was founded in 2005 in China. From early in its establishment, Sportrak Tyres built a solid reputation of quality and prestige, leaning on research and development across its dedicated TBR and PCR production factories.

And it’s not just Sportrak Tyres that the overarching Group manufactures. Sportrak Tire Group also produces tyres under the Superway brand – with Superway active in the additional motorcycle tyre market.

The brand has also invested in the launch of a rubber processing plant in Thailand, to give Sportrak Tyres access to high quality raw materials that are both stable and reliable in their design. Over the years, and with the addition of this technology and access to reputable raw materials, Sportrak has become a budget-friendly brand that’s backed by reliability and value.

Sportrak’s Position on the Tyre Market

The Sportrak Tyre brand is considered a mid-range name on the market – with an excellent reputation for bridging quality and reliability with value for money, without high-level performance attributes.

While Sportrak is not sat on the same level of the market as premium brands like Pirelli, Michelin, Yokohama and Bridgestone, it does provide drivers with an accessible and practical solution for different driving needs, terrains and vehicle types.

Its selection of car tyres, for example, span road and off-road tyres, offering balance and safety, comfort and the benefit of a quiet driving experience. Other benefits as cited by drivers include particular traits when handling wet weather driving and variable terrains. Some Sportrak models are heralded for strong grip in the midst of the wettest conditions and on the most rugged of roads, while the long tread life of the tyres means that they are reliable and durable.

Popular Sportrak Tyre Models and Collections

With that in mind, which Sportrak tyre models stand out as being particularly high quality?

The Sportrak SP726 is one of the best when it comes to navigating wet grip, which is a prominent benefit among UK drivers who face regular rainfall. The SP716 model boasts similar traits but is an all-season model with criss-cross grooves to optimise the displacement of water, while models like the SP708 support efficient braking and premium handling.

Another notable model is the Sportrak SP786, which boasts prominent and deep grooves between the chunky tread blocks for maximum traction across rugged terrain. Not to be confused with the deep grooves and flexible blocks of winter tyres, these 4x4 tyres are built to handle the transition from road to trail and beyond.

Then we have the more specific Sportrak models, namely the Race SP706 tyres with their much slicker design and enhanced fuel efficiency, and the WPro S789 winter tyre with its efficiency and deliberate pliability. As you browse the Sportrak range, a broad collection of tyres for different seasons and terrains quickly become clear, outlining the benefits of specific designs and structures.

Browsing the Sportrak Catalogue by Season
With so many different tyres to browse and choose between, often filtering by season is the best way to recognise the features of a tyre and how it will compliment your needs.

All-season tyres are designed to combine the benefits of winter and summer tyres seamlessly. They present a year-round solution that can handle changes in the weather – provided they don’t reach extremes – and are popular with UK drivers owing to our temperate climate.

The Sportrak all-season range is extensive and covers road tyres and off-road tyres. Models include the Sportrak SP786, the rough terrain SP756 mud tyres, and more generic road options like the SP716 tyres.

Some of the best summer tyres balance sipes for enhanced wet grip, with dry performance and reliable handling. They typically boast reinforced sidewalls for extra strength in warm temperatures, and support precise handling and cornering come rain or shine.

The Sportrak summer range encompasses tyres for everyday travel and off-road adventures, including models like the Race SP706 and the SP778.

Considered some of the most complex tyres by design on the market, winter tyres need to be able to offer reliable traction in the face of icy and snowy roads. Sportrak’s winter range balances grip with flexibility for handling and comfort, with models including the SP719 winter tyre.

Choosing the Right Tyres for Your Vehicle

Sportrak Tyres may not be a premium brand, but it offers a balance between competitive prices and reliability – making it a popular option for many drivers. When compared with premium brands like Goodyear and Yokohama, it presents a more accessible and balanced option, geared towards everyday use rather than performance.
