Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).

The Hifly Vigorous HP801 employs an asymmetric layout for its summer road tyre design. Outer edge cornering is aided by solid outer blocks, while water is directed away by the inner, open edge channels. Water is removed by grooves that run the circumference of the tyre. For city and motorway driving, road noise and vibrations are addressed by closely spaced blocks and cross cut slits in the tread.
XL (Extra Load) designations are suited for heavier applications and frequent hauls. The asymmetric outer solid blocks and inner open edge channel layout serve side by side pairs of tread blocks separate functions. Tyres.co.uk offers the Hifly Vigorous HP801 with XL designations.
