The Hankook Winter i Cept evo3 is a winter tyre with an emphasis on performance for driving on snow, slush and cold, wet roads. It features a V-shaped directional tread with outer edge grooves to provide an escape route for slush and water in the tread. Hankook’s Aqua Pine Compound combines stiff and flexible rubber to aid with low temperature traction. The 3D Grip Control Sipes have walls that when loaded, stiffen the block to aid with traction.

The Winter i Cept evo3 took over from the Winter i Cept evo2 and is now the 3rd generation of Hankook’s performance winter line. The sidewall markings of M+S and 3PMSF indicate that the tyre has met the snow traction standard. The Winter i Cept evo3 X is the performance winter line for SUV’s. In my first review, I likely praised these tyres for the grip and performance they offer in winter. That still stands true. When the winter season (22-23) ended, I started feeling a vibration at motorway speeds that balancing couldn't fix. I identified the cause as being the tyres after changing them between two identical sets of 19" Audi OEM Speedline wheels. The SC7's from Continental stayed balanced in both sets, yet the vibration occurred in whichever wheels the Hankook tyres were fitted to. For the sake of clarity, I used another brand and felt the same: the issue was with the Hankook tyres. I have spent more than £200 rotating the tyres to ensure that there were no issues with the wheels, and I have photos and receipts showing that the tyres were in good condition.

I feel safe using these tyres in winter conditions, ice and snow included. On my previous car, I had the same tyres and went through some deep ice and snow without a problem. They also performed excellently in high speed conditions on the German Autobahn.
