History

Durun Tyres was established by the Shandong Yongtai Chemical Group and has built a reputation of functionality and durability, bridged with environmental design and eco-efficiency.

Under the Durun tyre group sit several brands, including Durun, Goldway and Bennaf. While none of these are premium brands and so don’t match the performance of prestigious brands like Michelin and Bridgestone, the Durun group is prolific in the racing sector as well as various driver markets.

Today, Durun is particularly noted for its wide range of tyres, spanning different tyres sizes and designs for comfortable and high-performance driving all-year round.

Durun’s Position on the Tyre Market

Durun is a mid-range Chinese tyre brand and manufacturer that's active in both the everyday driving and performance / high-speed racing markets. It’s noted by drivers for its affordability and quality, with Durun especially prevalent when it comes to eco-friendly and fuel efficient tyre design. In fact, Durun has been acknowledged by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology for its quality green initiatives and designs.

This is seen across its range, which includes all-season and winter specific tyres, as well as summer tyres that maximise dry performance and wet grip, run-flat tyres, and the racing tyres with smooth but durable treads.

Popular Models and Collections

The diversity present across the selection of Durun tyres means that the most popular models vary wildly from one driver to the next. Some value the high-speed performance of the Durun T90A tyres while others rate the improved endurance and efficiency of the Durun B717 tyres.

The Durun A2000 ST collection is well suited to long distances and regular travel, reducing wear resistance, while the Durun M636 tyres are designed with ultra-high performance in mind.

For off-road adventures, the Durun Terrain Grabber M/T maximises traction, while light truck drivers favour the Durun D108, YTR10, and C212 models.

Browsing the Durun Catalogue by Season
With Durun particularly prominent in the eco-efficient and road performance sector of the tyre market, matching your tyres with the surrounding climate is key.

All-season tyres are a popular option with UK drivers, as they bridge the benefits of winter and summer tyres to manage handling and performance in all conditions and weather. Among the top all-season tyres are the Durun M626 tyres with balanced wet and dry grip, as well as safety in cold weather.

Durun’s range of summer tyres is extensive and includes models for light trucks as well as passenger cars and performance vehicles. The Durun L919 tyres, Durun C212 tyres, and Durun RH01 tyres are all popular summer models, with optimised dry performance and wet grip balanced with the added strength of reinforced sidewalls. Other notable summer car tyres include the Durun A One and the A 2000 tyres.

Winter tyres need to be strong but remain flexible, with deep grooves and sophisticated tyre tread patterns for reliable grip in challenging conditions. Winter tyres are not typically necessary for drivers in the UK, though can be a safe option for those in remote areas and who navigate long journeys in upland areas.

Choosing the Right New Tyres for Your Vehicle

Finding the best tyres for your car or vehicle starts with tyre size and specifications, with drivers then able to consider climate and special features like run-flat tyre designs and summer or winter options. Different tyre manufacturers lean into different designs, with some using sipes to dispel surface water in the summer, and others turning to chunky tread blocks and shoulder blocks for enhanced cornering and handling.

Durun prioritises safety and performance while also turning an eye to the future, similar to brands like Goodyear and Hankook.

This is seen in the fact that Durun has a long history of quality tyres backed by innovation and environmental efficiency. While not on the premium level of brands like Pirelli and Continental, Durun is a respected brand that’s popular with drivers seeking value and reliability.
