History

CST Tyres was founded in 1967 in Taiwan and has a number of localised branches in different regions – with the UK market supplied by CST Tyres UK and Maxxis Tyres. CST Tyres specialises in the production of tyres for all applications and uses, including bikes for which it first became known as well as passenger cars, vans and trucks, ATVs, and sports utility vehicles (SUVs).

CST Tyres now has three production facilities in China and invests in both innovation tyre technologies and in advanced testing to ensure that its seasonal, design-specific, and mixed terrain tyres are all fit for purpose.

CST’s Position on the Tyre Market

CST is a mid-range tyre brand that competes with premium brands like Michelin and Bridgestone in terms of quality and the diversity of its range. Leading cycling tyre brands, including Dunlop and Continental, are just as well known as CST but do not produce as many variations for different cycling experiences and terrains.

Some of the notable accolades that elevate the CST brand and its popularity with drivers and riders include the versatility of its collections, the innovation that’s present in its rubber compounds and tread designs, and the puncture protection that’s especially prevalent in its bicycle tyre collection.

The collection of CST car tyres includes off-road and road tyres, with the CST Medallion All-Season ACP1 tyre among the most popular. Drivers also favour the durability of CST tyres, and the way that they balance performance with affordability.

Popular CST Models and Collections

We’ve already touched on a few popular models of CST tyre, however it’s important to note that this is a tyre brand that’s active and present in several vehicular and transportation sectors.

In the bicycle tyre market, top models include the CST XPedium tyres for road cycling, the CST Pika range for gravel tracks, and the CST Czar selection of tyres for smooth racing and high-performance cycling. Other notable bike tyres include the CST C186 tyre and the CM-S1 tyres.

Some of the top motorcycle tyre collections and models include the CST Rideambro tyres, the CST Ridemigra tyres, the CST Adreno tyres, and the CST BiteMX off-road adventure tyres.

In the passenger car and automotive markets, CST tyres vary between seasons, terrains, and vehicle types. However, the most popular include models like the CST Adreno AD-R9 tyres, the Medallion All-Season and Winter ranges, the CST Sahara tyres, and the extreme grip Dragon Claw and Land Dragon tyres for maximum traction.

Browsing the CST Catalogue by Season
CST Tyres is filtered down into different tyre categories and vehicle markets, different terrains, and of course different seasons when it comes to automotive tyres. Opting for seasonal tyres means that drivers and riders get the very best performance out of their tyres, while all-season tyres balance the benefits of winter and summer designs to provide a year-round, convenient solution.

All-season tyres are a versatile option for drivers in temperate climates, like that of the UK. These tyres are well balanced in cold and warmer conditions and have sufficient grip for different climates. In the CST collection, the top all-season tyres bridge all-terrain driving with road driving. The most popular model is the CST Medallion All-Season tyre, followed by the CST Van Master All-Season ACT11 tyre for commercial vehicles.

Summer tyres combine a reinforced sidewall and extra strength with good grip across dry performance driving and wet handling. Some of the best CST summer tyres include the CST Saleks tyre, the CST Marquis collection, and the Medallion MD-A7 tyre. It’s also worth noting that many of the bicycle tyres in the CST range have the hallmarks of summer tyres, boasting sipes to dispel surface water, extra grip and a strong rubber compound to prevent punctures and damage for commuters and adventure riders.

CST winter tyres are built to navigate complex and challenging terrain, within adverse driving conditions. The CST Medallion Winter tyre is the top rated car tyre for winter driving and is also recommended to those who live in remote areas owing to its puncture-resistant tread pattern and handling.

Choosing the Right Tyres for Your Vehicle

The CST range includes car and other vehicle tyres, as well as bicycle and motorbike tyres. The brand was first known and recognised as a bike tyre manufacturer before expanding and is connected with other top brands like Maxxis tyres. Its quality makes CST comparable to the likes of Pirelli and other best sellers, matching customer reviews across both the automotive and push bike markets.

When it comes to choosing the right tyres for your vehicle, car, or bike, consider the role of tyre size and specification as well as terrain and external climate. In order to keep tyres in good condition, owners should also note the ideal tread depth for their vehicle, and follow advice when it comes to local tyre fitting, tyre pressure maintenance, and more.
