History

Apollo Tyres was first founded in India in 1972 and has since spread its production of rubber tyres across seven key sites including Hungary and the Netherlands in Europe.

As part of its growth plan in the years since being founded, Apollo Tyres Ltd has acquired other businesses and tyre manufacturers, expanding its range and access to testing and production facilities. Its own range was focussed originally on truck tyres, though it has expanded its manufacturing units since with the acquisition of other popular brands.

Today, Apollo Tyres sells Apollo and Vredestein tyres, combining these two brands to forge a diverse portfolio of tyres for different terrains, climates, and vehicles. Vredestein was acquired by Apollo Tyres in 2009, with this one of its major acquisitions in the expansion of passenger car tyres and tyres for SUVs.

The history and growth of Apollo, encompassing its own collection of truck, car, and industrial tyres, alongside the acquisition of other brands, means that Apollo Tyres has a broad range of affordable but high-quality tyres to suit all needs.

Apollo’s Position on the Market

Apollo tyres are designed to bridge safety with performance. While they are not premium in terms of their price tag or their ability to deliver outstanding performance on the race track, Apollo tyres are considered reliable and built to last.

What’s more, the diverse seasonal range of Apollo tyres means that these are tyres that can offer exceptional braking, handling, cornering, and accelerating on dry and wet roads.

All of this is evident in Apollo’s own commitment to developing sustainable tyres that are able to adapt to the changing demands of drivers and the industry. Apollo may not be a premium brand when compared to other tyre manufacturers, but its pledge to deliver sustainable tyres using advanced technology and material innovation is admirable.

Apollo Vredestein tyres are all designed using advanced research and development tools, harnessing AI for testing and to explore the use of eco-friendly materials that optimise performance as well as tyre tread life, fuel efficiency, and of course driver comfort.

Popular Apollo Tyre Models and Collections

With that said, and with Apollo’s growth strategy spanning the development of tyres that are considered high-performance from a sustainable angle, many of the popular Apollo automotive tyre types bridge comfort with performance.

For cars, some of the top collections include the Apollo Amazer 4G Life and Amazer XP tyres, the Aspire 3G tyres, and the Apollo Alnac 4G Tyres. These collections are further filtered by season and driving potential, with the Alnac 4G tyres boasting a classic tyre, winter tyre, and an all-season tyre.

Apollo tyres pays homage to its origin in the truck tyre market with collections like the Enducity UA tyres and Apollo Duramile tyres – both of which are designed to offer durability in the face of heavy loads.

Finally, Apollo tyres has a select range built for two-wheel travel – with bike tyres including the Actigrip R1 tyres and Alpha H1 collection.

Find Apollo Tyres
Browsing the Apollo Catalogue of Tyres by Season
For UK drivers, all-season tyres tend to offer sufficient grip, traction, and versatility for year-round driving, owing to our temperate climate and the lack of extreme temperatures and conditions. However, alongside its leading all-season range of tyres, Apollo has an extensive list of summer and winter tyres which are built to withstand high temperatures and challenging conditions.

Among the versatile all-season tyres, Apollo combines durability on the roads with strength, control, and even high-performance on smooth roads and tracks. The Alnac 4G All-Season is a popular tyre that supports performance and is available in a huge range of tyre sizes. The Amazer 3G supports a particularly long lifespan with regards to its structure and tread pattern, while the Altrust All Season tyre is built for vans. The Aspire 4G tyre is Apollo’s answer to the sports car market, with a smoother outer layer that handles cornering exceptionally well.

Many of the summer tyres crossover into the all-season range, as they combine their extra strength with the kind of quality tread pattern that delivers good traction even in winter conditions. The Altrust+ is the commercial tyre of choice for drivers in summer, while the Amazer 4G Eco supports eco-friendly performance. The Apollo Apterra AT tyres are great for off-road driving, and the Aspire 4G+ tyres are the best for performance driving.

The Apollo winter tyre collection puts safety first, with the Aspire XP Winter boasting the best control and traction through wet, icy, and snowy conditions.
